Buffalo Announces New Recycling Program for Politicians

Tons of trashed politicians looking for re-use in Buffalo and WNY

Last week, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced that Buffalo set a new monthly record in March for recycling more than 1,000 tons of material.  Now, Buffalo looks to take recycling to the next level: recycling “previously used” politicians.

Former  State Senator Antoine Thompson is rumored (so says WGRZ) to be considering a return to the political ring by trying to win a state Senate seat again, this time in the new 63rd district.  Problem is, he might face current State Senator Tim Kennedy in the primary.  Who will voters leave out on the curb?

Truth in Advertising

Former Erie County Executive Chris Collins announced he was running for Congress, in the 27th district, he told The Buffalo News today. This means he will be taking on longtime rival (and incumbent) Kathy Hochul (D) in a reapportioned district that gives an advantage to the Republican party.

Collins says he will apply the same cost cutting logic that proved him to be a successful and well liked County Executive:

Lawmaker Earns “Stupid Grandstanding” Badge

"I was thinkin', I'm gonna take me some of these taters home with me...."

Republican Representative Bob Morris was the only member of the Indiana House who has refused to sign a resolution that celebrates the Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary, in a show of stupidity that demonstrates that there is such a thing as “bad press”. (Link to Indiana News Center here.) Morris, who is a doppelganger for Karl Chiders in Billy Bob Thorton’s “Sling Blade” (but not as bright, and with less sound judgement) told House Republicans in Indiana via a letter (that The Journal-Gazette of Fort Wayne obtained) that he “did sum researchin’ and done found out that Girl Scouts is a ‘tac-tic-cal’ arm of Planned Parenthood” and that the Scouts supports abortion (presumably through the sale of their cookies?) and “dun promotes homo-sinuality”.

Citing his belief that “we should put all our eggs into one basket”, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced his intention to use Governor Andrew Cuomo’s pledge of “One Billion Dollars” to lure the popular barbecue chain to the city.
