Rambling Douchebag NYS Senator Wants Grisanti Incident Investigated

'Whatcha gonna do, when my Senatorial powers come down on you?!?!

Will we ever know what truly happened last Friday regarding the altercation between New York Republican State Senator, his wife, and a Seneca Nation businessman and his “associates”?  (Who threw the first punch? Who dropped the N-word?) Even if we never know, there’s plenty of room for those trying to score political points to weasel their way into the fracas.

ArtVoice’s Alan Bedenko has a great story about how a young political wannabe has added his two cents, and how he claims the security footage shows Grisanti being the aggressor. Of course, the person making the claims may have wanted to make a little money from “consulting” Grisanti on how to handle the crisis, which is laughable at best, or possible extortion at worst. Check out the link if you haven’t already, and read the comments, where you will not be disappointed.

And then, there’s this asshole:

I was born a rambling man...

The Buffalo News reports that State Senator Ruben Diaz (D) of the Bronx has called for an investigation. Diaz made the request to State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos (R):

“there is another story floating around where many people are claiming that Senator Grisanti threw the first punch and that he hit a woman. If this is so, these are very serious accusations.”

Grisanti did claim he did a “clothesline” maneuver to get two women off his wife, who was beaten into a concussion after she says she tried to intervene in the violence against her husband.

Does Senator Diaz have a grudge against Grisanti? After all, Grisanti supported marriage equality, and Ruben definately did not:

Or perhaps it’s partisan politics as usual (a hated cliche if there ever was one). Diaz brings up the investigation of State Senator Hiram Monserrate (an ally of Diaz who was accused of slashing his girlfriend’s face with a piece of glass) who was expelled by the senate. He’s trying to equate this slasher to Grisanti trying to keep his wife from having her head beat open by two women?  Monserrate was convicted of misdemeanor assault, escaping more serious felony assault accusations.

As far as the claims made about the fight itself by the alleged participants: consider the source. Do any of these people have shady pasts? Have any of them been involved in violence? Can the claims made of Grisanti using a racial epithet be confirmed by casino security?

Maybe if the local press had the balls to ask these questions, douches like Diaz wouldn’t be able to ask for official investigations that will cost the taxpayers money and waste the time of the state senate.
